For a long time I have tried to make my business as accessible to my international customers as I can. Right from the very beginning, I worked hard to make the shop as competitive against the big online giants as I could. This wasn't easy, especially in the early days when they could offer tax free pricing and I couldn't.

Last year I voluntarily registered for VAT before I hit the threshold, this was for the sole purpose of offering all my wonderful international customers the ability to shop with me tax-free. This was by far the best decision I could have made to grow this tiny little business a little more.

Despite all these changes, I was still only able to accept payments in GBP, and the limitations of Shopify meant after VAT registration, I just wasn't able to have a currency converter on the website anymore. This mean't I saw quite a big drop off in international custom, people just don't like to browse in a currency that isn't theirs.

Last month, Shopify released an exciting new feature - the ability to take payments in 7 different currencies. I was so excited to see this feature launched, as it now means you can browse the store, and pay for goods (yay!) in one of 7 different currencies (with more hopefully to follow).

This means no more nasty surprises when your card company does the conversion! You now get clear pricing, and know exactly what you are paying before you check out.

At the moment, the only way to switch between the different currency pages is by visiting this page and clicking the link through to your local currency. Hopefully in the near future I'll have a currency converter at the top of the page that will make switching even easier.

I can't wait to hear what you all think of this new feature!
